Moved by Waters

May 10 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Join Sinnissippi Audubon as we welcome Emmy award-winning documentary filmmakers Kelly and Tammy Rundle of Fourth Wall Films as they premiere their new documentary “Moved by Waters”.

We will host a FREE screening of this film on May 10, 2024 at 7pm in the RPL Nordlof Center as part of our World Migratory Bird Day (WMBD) celebration. Help us kick off this year’s theme of “Protect Insects, Protect Birds” by recognizing last year’s theme of “Water”.
“Moved by Waters” is a documentary focused on the network of people and organizations in Iowa and Illinois working toward improved water quality in Upper Mississippi Watershed.

Two other short environmental/nature films by Kelly and Tammy will also be shown. After the three films, there will be an opportunity for Q & A will the filmmakers about their work. We will also take this time to share how you can get involved in conservation and stewardship in our community.

Water is essential to the survival of migratory birds. From breeding to resting, and refueling during migration and wintering, migratory birds rely on lakes, rivers, ponds, coastal wetlands, and even moisture found in seeds, flowers, and mist. But water is under threat. Climate change, pollution, and increasing human demand for water are endangering vital ecosystems and the availability of clean water – for birds and people alike. In fact, 35 percent of the world’s wetlands have been lost in the last 50 years, and the recently published UN World Water Report estimates that over 2 billion people now don’t have access to safe drinking water.

Please join us to learn more about protecting our water for birds and people!
