We are a proud supporter of this new album by Micky Torpedo which features compositions inspired by birdsongs from species that travel within the Mississippi Flyway.

The first single Baltimore Oriole is wonderful!

As we selected the species to feature on this album, it was important to feature birds known to be part of our flyway, identified as a species threatened by climate change via the Survival by Degrees report, and/or may be listed as threatened or endangered in the State of Illinois.

Five of the species are endangered in the State of Illinois – American Bittern, Piping Plover, Short-eared Owl, Northern Harrier, and Swainson’s Hawk.

And we could not be more proud of our youth board member, Jackie Kuroda, for contributing to the album artwork and playing guitar on song #10.

Physical CD sales will benefit the Sinnissippi Audubon Society.
